Converting Material Advantage
Soon after the release of the highly successful course Converting Positional Advantage, IM Boroljub Zlatanovic completes his survey with a brand new database - Converting Material Advantage.
Many players use their skills to “get something”; they achieve an advantage and then fail to convert. Of course, you know you should start chess education with endgames. Similarly to that, it is good to start advanced education by converting the material advantage. It may be frustrating to spend hours getting a winning position and spoil everything in ten minutes.
This course is made to navigate you through the process of converting. You will find important advice, techniques, and principles in the course and feel much more comfortable in situations with extra material. By the way, some different examples are also presented – these are about illusion. The side with material advantage went wrongly for the position where the opponent with a material deficit would play for a win. Even in such situations, we explained patterns to win.
The material is divided into three chapters. The first two are about common material imbalance: extra pawn and extra exchange. The third one is about other imbalances, where various examples of material imbalances are presented.
The section featuring positions with an extra pawn is the biggest one. It includes 22 annotated model games and 3 test positions. The remaining two sections (extra exchange and material imbalances) feature 12 model games and 3 test positions each. All the test positions come with annotated answers.
This course comes with a Video Version (Approximately 2h and 30min Running Time), allowing you to learn in a format that suits you best. Whether you're a beginner looking to improve your strategic play or an advanced player seeking to refine your understanding of positional advantages, this course is a valuable addition to your chess learning journey.
