Would you like to get into grandmaster’s shoes and improve your endgame technique?
We're thrilled to announce the release of a new course by GM Kiril Georgiev - "My 100 Best Endgames". In this comprehensive course, Kiril shares his decades of experience as a chess elite with a rating above 2600 and offers you the chance to get into the mind of a grandmaster and improve your endgame technique.
Kiril Georgiev is the first Bulgarian individual World Champion. In 1983, a few monthsbefore turning 18, he won in Belfort the U20 title with the respectable 11,5 out of 13!
Even then, in his junior years, there were already legends about his skills in the endings and his abilities to press on and extract the maximum from seemingly innocent situations. Most of us are still inclined to joke that “Kiril’s prime time is coming after the exchange of the queens”, but the reality is often quite bitter when sitting against him.
This course will provide you with the following benefits:
✅Gain insights into the thought process of a top grandmaster in endgame situations
✅Improve your ability to evaluate and make decisions in complex endgame positions
✅Learn how to make the most out of minimal forces and how to grind down opponents from equal or worse positions
✅Understand the nuances of technical conversions and unbalanced endgames, which can be crucial for turning a draw into a win
✅Access a comprehensive and well-organized selection of 100 endgames, covering a wide range of scenarios and difficulties
A vast majority of the featured games have seen exactly an earlier trade of the queens with direct transitions from the opening phase into endgames. This is the reason, for which nearly all of them are given here from the very first moves.
The material (with the relevant numbers of the included games) is distributed as follows:
- 1-7 Central files
- 8- 13 Attack with minimal forces
- 14–16 Remoted passed pawn
- 17–23 Queenside majority
- 24-28 Kingside majority
- 29-33 Defending and Squeezing from worse positions
- 34-39 Grinding down from equal positions
- 40-47 Material advantage
- 48-53 Two bishops
- 54-58 Opposite-coloured bishops
- 59-78 Technical conversions
- bishop endings (3 examples)
- two rooks and a knight each (4)
- bishop and knight (3)
- structure a/b vs. a/c (6)
- superior knight (4) - 79-84 Time-trouble dramas
- 85-89 Missed opportunities
- 90-94 Complex rook endings
- 95-100 Unbalanced endgames
In this January Kiril Georgiev went on to set several records by winning his 7th individual title, which, for instance, made him a sole leader in this contest. We can only wish to him to extendhis series and bring to us more of his magic in the nearest future.
