The starting position of the current repertoire arises after the moves 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.g3 In recent years, this variation became very popular at the highest level. By combining ideas typical for Catalan and Slav, White wants to build a long-term positional pressure. The solid positional foundation of this system, allows you to play without memorizing tons of theoretical variation. The first part of the database deals with the three main moves - 4...dxc4, 4...Bg4, and 4...Bf5. The remaining options (4...g6, 4...e6, and 4...a6) will be dealt with in the second part of this opening project. The database consists of 11 theoretical chapters, 11 interactive test positions, a Memory Booster, and Video Version (1.5 hours Running Time).

We are happy to introduce the new opening project of GM Mihail Marin - Play the Modern Defence. After a long period of analysis and research, Marin is finally able to provide you with a universal repertoire that you can use both against 1.e4 and 1.d4. Besides being a highly practical choice, the Modern Defence lies on solid positional foundations. True to the hyper modernist understanding, Black constantly tries to undermine White's centre. Since the strategic imbalance is created at the very beginning, this is a perfect opening for everyone who wants to play for a win with Black. The current database includes 64 theoretical chapters, 15 interactive test positions, Video Version (5h 40min Running Time), and Memory Booster.

After the standard opening moves 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6, White has a typical choice between 3.Nf3, 3.Nc3 and 3.g3. All three lead to big opening variations in which the theory branches deeply and widely. Sometimes white players avoid this early by playing 2.Bf4 (the London system), 2.Bg5 (the Trompowsky attack) or 2.Nc3 (the Veresov Attack), trying to get a less theoretical type of game. However, all these systems have a downside in that White usually delays or altogether omits to play c2-c4, which decreases his influence on the centre. That said, it might be possible to get the best of both worlds by playing 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Bf4!?, a variation that has been largely unexplored throughout chess history.

We are happy to present the newest opening course by GM Boris Avrukh - 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 - Repertoire against 3.Bb5 & 3.Nc3. Against both these options, Avrukh suggests the extremely practical and rare 3...e5!?. For a long period time of time, the entire concept based on ...e7-e5 was considered to be dubious. Recent practice, as well as the modern engines, show that things are far from simple. In this survey, Avrukh manages to improve Black's play in many of the critical positions. The database includes 13 theoretical chapters, 15 interactive test positions, Video Version (4h and 30min Running Time), a Memory Booster, and Computer Practice.
