Play the Alapin Variation - Part 2
GM Baadur Jobava & GM Pier Luigi Basso
We are happy to announce the release of the second and final part of the series Play the Alapin Variation. This course completes our Alapin repertoire against the Sicilian Defence.
The current course is dedicated to the position arising after 1.e4 c5 2.c3 d5
This is the second main response to the Alapin Variation (together with 2...Nf6 which was covered in Part 1). For a long period of time, theoreticians used to believe that Black solves his opening problems without too much trouble. GM Basso and GM Jobava provide in-depth analysis. They prove that White can pose huge practical problems while in most cases playing with a draw in his pocket. For sure, the suggested repertoire will take your opponent out of his comfort zone.
Just like the previous course, this database follows an innovative structure:
15 Minutes Repertoire
In this section, GM Pier Luigi Basso presents the entire repertoire in 15 minutes. After watching the video and studying the PGN file, you will be able to start playing the repertoire even before consulting the theoretical chapters.
Interactive Quiz
At the end of the course, a video quiz with 10 questions will test your understanding of the material, ensuring you grasp the key concepts.
When dealing with this section, start by watching the corresponding video. In the video, you will find both the questions and the answers. Only after that, you can recheck everything by consulting the PGN file.
Live Baadur Blitz Challenge
Experience the Alapin Variation in action through blitz games played and commented on by GM Baadur Jobava. These games provide insights into Baadur's approach to the positions and demonstrate our lines in real-time scenarios.
The database also includes 14 theoretical chapters, 10 interactive test positions, a Memory Booster, and a Video Version (4h and 42min Running Time).
