Top-Level Repertoire against King's Indian and Grunfeld
We are happy to announce that IM Krishnater has completed his 1.d4 repertoire with the course Top-Level Repertoire against King's Indian and Grunfeld. So far, the respected Indian theoretician has released four excellent courses dedicated to 1.d4 - Top-Level Repertoire against the Slav Defence, Top-Level Repertoire against Queen's Gambit Declined - Part 1, Top-Level Repertoire against Queen's Gambit Declined - Part 2, and 1.d4 - Expert Repertoire against Queen's Indian, Bogo-Indian, Benko, Benoni, Dutch, and Sidelines.
Against both King's Indian Defence and Grunfeld Defence, Krishnater suggests two systems for White. In this way, the author provides you with a higher degree of flexibility. True to his analytical approach, Krishnater opts for early deviations from the mainstream theory that will likely take your opponent by surprise. That being said, his ideas are approved by the strongest engines.
For instance, let's take a look at the most popular position in King's Indian Defence.
At this point, Krishnater suggests the rare but extremely interesting 9.Kh1 planning Ng1 and g2-g4. The author is applying the same ideas against different King's Indian Defence setups.
The second suggestion against King's Indian Defence is based on 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.Be2 0-0 6.h3
This move is rarely seen with Be2. White either opts for Be2-Be3, or h3-Be3 nowadays. Thus, this gives us the benefit of surprising our opponent early in the opening. As it becomes clear from the theoretical analysis, Black faces many practical problems against this system.
Against Grunfeld Defence, we have two suggestions as well. The first line features 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 d5 4.Qb3
This move is quite rare, but quite tricky. You can consider this to be a 'Russian System' without Nf3. This poses different sets of problems for Black.
The alternative repertoire is based on 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 d5 4.cxd5 Nxd5 5.Bd2
Even though this line has the reputation of being solid and positional, Krishnater handles it very aggressively. Against Black's main options 5...Bg7 and 5...Nb6, he suggests dynamic lines, including the advance h2-h4. Unless Black is very well prepared, he would face serious practical issues in this system.
The course consists of 20 theoretical chapters, 15 interactive test positions, a Memory Booster, and a Video Version.
