Most players consume chess content.They:
Yet their results fluctuate — because their training lacks structure.
Modern Chess Academy was built to solve exactly that problem.
This is not a content platform. It is a monthly training system where every element supports the others.
Everything is connected.
Each month includes:
Strategy Wednesday → Positional understanding & long-term planning
Tactical Thursday → Disciplined calculation & practical sharpness
Repertoire Builder → Building an opening identity based on understanding
Guided Practice → Weekly curated training with structured repetition
Opening Radar → Modern theory & elite-level trends
Inside Your Games → Analysis of real member games
Mentorship Program → Personal direction & accountability
✔ All lectures recorded
✔ All material organized
✔ A system that builds month after month
Improvement in chess is cumulative.
The Academy provides the structure that makes that accumulation possible.
Modern Chess Academy does not offer shortcuts. There are no magic formulas here. The Academy will not replace the work you must do. It will only structure it.
This is a serious training environment. This environment is not designed for everyone. Before subscribing, ask yourself:
Am I ready to work systematically?
Am I willing to improve gradually, not emotionally?
If the answer is yes — you belong here.
The season begins again, and with it the pillars of the Academy return in full.
French Defense for Black: Fundamental Structures after 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3
👤 Coach: GM Grigor Grigorov
📅 Dates: 22.09.2026 & 29.09.2026

August established the foundation: the closed French pawn chain of the Advance Variation, the ...c5 break at its base, and the long-standing question of the light-squared bishop. September turns to White's most principled continuation.
With 3.Nc3, White develops and keeps every option open — and hands Black a choice that shapes the rest of the game. The lines that follow produce a different family of structures from the Advance: positions where White closes the centre on his own terms, where the fight moves to the wings, and where the value of each minor piece depends entirely on which pawn structure has been reached.
Theory is kept intentionally light — only what is required to reach the right kinds of middlegame positions. The emphasis is on understanding, not memorisation.
From the Opening to the Endgame: Must-Know Endgames in the Réti Opening
👤 Coach: GM Ioannis Papaioannou
📅 Dates: 09.09.2026 & 30.09.2026
🔗 Event page: https://www.modern-chess.com/event/from-the-opening-to-the-endgame-must-know-endgames-in-the-reti-opening/22781/
The Réti does not seek an early knockout. White fianchettoes, keeps the centre fluid, declines to commit, and accumulates small advantages — a slightly better structure, a slightly better bishop, a slightly freer game. Those advantages rarely decide the middlegame. They decide the endgame.
This camp covers the recurring endgame structures across the Réti and Catalan formations, the symmetrical English positions, the Hedgehog and the Maróczy setups: the fianchettoed bishop that comes into its own once the position opens, the queenside pawn majorities that decide so many of these endings, and the symmetrical positions where a single tempo is the whole difference. You will learn how strong players steer the middlegame toward favourable transitions and convert small but durable advantages into full points.
Calculation in Attack and Alert Calculations
👤 Coach: GM Swapnil Dhopade
📅 Dates: 10.09.2026 & 24.09.2026
🔗 Event page: https://www.modern-chess.com/event/calculation-in-attack-and-alert-calculations/62814/
Most failed attacks are not miscalculated. They are calculated correctly — against a defence the attacker never considered. This camp trains both halves of the problem: calculating accurately in attacking positions, where the candidate moves are not forcing and the lines run long; and remaining alert to what the opponent can do about it.
The format is deliberately demanding. You are given a move and asked a single question — is it winning, or is there a refutation? Some of the moves win. Others meet a resource the opponent has available, and you will not be told in advance which is which.

Most chess training is content consumption. The Academy is structure — the work is connected month to month, and every pillar reinforces the others. Live GM-led sessions every Wednesday and Thursday, weekly structured practice, modern opening updates, real game analysis, and a long-term repertoire-building project, all within one integrated system.
Improvement is cumulative. The Academy provides the structure that makes that accumulation possible.
This is not random content. This is chess training — the Modern Chess way.
