CURRENT MONTH
ACADEMY TIMELINE
Chess Academy - July 2026
This July, the Modern Chess Academy advances all four pillars: GM Papaioannou turns to the typical endgames of the French Defense, GM Dhopade trains strategic calculation and long variations, IM Baumegger opens a new Elements of Positional Play cycle in Guided Practice, and GM Grigorov completes the six-month Opening Builder with the final theoretical stage of the 1.Nf3 repertoire. Alongside them run Opening Radar with GM Cheparinov, deep analysis of members' own games in Inside Your Games, and the Mentorship Program — one connected, month-to-month training system rather than a collection of separate lessons. A single month of membership unlocks all of it, live and on demand.

WHAT MEMBERS ARE SAYING
With the abundance of content on the internet nowadays, it is not easy for an adult chess improver to find the right resources. Luckily, there is the Modern Chess Academy—a monthly training system covering every aspect of the game, including 1-on-1 coaching with one of the mentors. I joined the Academy in July 2025, and I can clearly see my improvement since then. I am currently performing about 150 rating points above my level and have a much better understanding of the game, thanks to Mr. Grigorov, all the coaches, and the structured training with high-quality lessons. — John, 2181
I've been a member of the Modern Chess Academy for about a year, and it's been my best chess investment. The Strategy Wednesday and Tactical Thursday sessions are always well-prepared, practical, and full of ideas you won't find in books. GM Papaioannou's lessons have directly improved my over-the-board results, while GM Dhopade's sessions bring sharp and useful tactical insights. What I particularly value is the interactive format and the focus on real understanding—especially in Opening Radar, where ideas, not just moves, are explained, and questions come directly from members. All sessions are recorded, so nothing is ever missed. My favorite feature, however, is the mentorship. The one-on-one sessions (with GM Grigorov) make the experience truly personalized. Analyzing my own games and receiving targeted advice has helped me identify patterns, improve decision-making, and even score important wins in tournaments. Considering both the high-quality lectures and the personal mentorship, the Academy offers exceptional value—far beyond what you would expect for the price. — Jim, 1736
My personal experience with Modern Chess has been absolutely fantastic! This platform gives you everything you need to improve—high-level files, video content, and a strong foundation in strategy and calculation, along with excellent personal mentorship (included in the Academy). The courses are very affordable, often with great discounts, and the quality is outstanding. The authors at Modern Chess are extremely strong and provide top-level analysis and ideas. Modern Chess is by far the best platform for chess players, and I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about improving their game. — David, 2219
