    Semi-Tarrasch Endgame Line

    GM-Swapnil-Dhopade-de6e849d23

We are happy to present the newest database by GM Swapnil Dhopade - Semi-Tarrasch Endgame Line. In this project, GM Dhopade provides a complete repertoire for Black after 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 d5 4.Nc3 c5

    diagram1-85de3a5dd4

While the database is based on the endgame arising after 5.cxd5 cxd4 6.Qxd4 exd5 7.e4 dxe4, GM Dhopade covers all the deviations that White has at his disposal. Chapter 1 covers 5.Bg5 while 5.e3 is a subject of Chapter 2.

After 5.cxd5 cxd4, White has two important alternatives to 6.Qxd4 - 6.Nxd4 and 6.Qa4+. Both these moves are dealt with in Chapter 3. The final important deviation from the endgame arises after 6.Qxd4 exd5. Here, instead of 7.e4, White can play either 7.Bg5 or 7.e3. These options are considered in Chapter 4. The final Chapter 5 examines the endgame arising after 6.Qxd4 exd5 7.e4 dxe4 8.Qxd8 Kxd8.

The database consists of 5 theoretical chapters, 13 model games, Memory Booster and Strategy Booster. The boosters will help you to improve your memory and understanding of the opening.

Here is how GM Dhopade presents his project:

Hello Friends! Welcome to the Semi-Tarrasch Endgame Line. This is an interesting project for me. I have written books and courses in which I have included an entire repertoire for White or Black. Such a huge project is not only daunting for an author but also intimidating for many of the learners as it contains a number of variations. So the Modern Chess team and I decided to create a short and quick repertoire that zooms in on only one particular system. We chose the endgame line that arises in the Semi-Tarrasch line after the moves - 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 d5 4.Nc3 c5 5.cxd5 cxd4 6.Qxd4 exd5 7.e4 dxe4 8.Qxd8 Kxd8 This endgame position is debated heavily these days. The torchbearer of this line from the Black side is the top GM So Wesley. He played a total of 19 games (still counting) in 2020-21. As Black, he won 4 games, lost 3 games and drew 12 games. That is a phenomenal result from the Black side! Furthermore, he achieved this result playing against the top elite players of Chess like the World Champion Magnus Carlsen. My own experience in this line has been quite a decent one. I played it against 6 GM's. I comfortably drew 5 games against them, including a comfortable draw against the legendary GM Nigel Short. While losing only 1 game to the talented German GM Svane Rasmus. After this introduction do check out my game against GM Nigel Short. I am sure that it will give you a boost in confidence to try out this line against strong GM's. Below you can also get a preview of the repertoire and the lines covered in it chapter wise. I am sure you will enjoy this repertoire and add this rock-solid endgame line to your arsenal. I wish you all the very best! Regards, GM Swapnil Dhopade.
