GM Ioannis Papaioannou continues his highly regarded Strategy Wednesday series this January with an in-depth exploration of positions featuring the Fianchetto Bishop. These sessions will delve into the fundamental principles of playing with and against a bishop on g2 or b2, covering its role in various openings and its transition through the middlegame and endgame.
With his trademark systematic approach, Papaioannou will provide participants with essential knowledge and practical tools for understanding how to maximize the power of the fianchetto bishop across all phases of the game. By connecting strategic themes from different openings to middlegame plans and endgame structures, these lectures promise to significantly enhance your chess understanding.
As in previous months, the lectures will be held over two Wednesdays, with two sessions each day. At the end of each session, participants will receive 10 test positions to solve independently, designed to reinforce the concepts covered. The final PGN file will include all test positions along with detailed solutions.
Strategy Wednesday is part of the Modern Chess Academy, giving all academy members free access to these lectures and the corresponding digital product to be released afterward.
