Dynamic Decision Making
This March, GM Davorin Kuljasevic continues his Tactical Thursday series with an in-depth exploration of Dynamic Decision Making. These sessions will focus on how our ability to calculate variations influences decision-making in complex, fast-changing positions.
In dynamic positions, every move matters—decisive action can lead to a winning attack, while hesitation can result in a lost initiative. How do we balance intuition and calculation? When should we commit to a sharp tactical sequence, and when should we maintain control? GM Kuljasevic will provide a structured approach to navigating these critical decisions, helping players refine their dynamic thinking process.
Throughout these sessions, participants will build on the fundamental calculation techniques introduced in previous editions, including Ply Theory, Candidate Moves, Prophylactic Thinking, and Visualization. By integrating these tools, players will develop a more structured and confident approach to dynamic positions.
As always, the lectures will be held over two Thursdays (13.03 and 27.03), with two sessions each day. At the end of each session, participants will receive 10 test positions to solve independently, reinforcing the concepts covered. The final PGN file will include all test positions with detailed solutions, providing a comprehensive study resource.
Tactical Thursday is part of the Modern Chess Academy, giving all academy members free access to these lectures and the corresponding digital product to be released afterward.
